About this website

The Leiden Declaration on Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics is a community initiative that calls for action to address the challenges posed by the use of artificial intelligence within mathematics research. The present website records public support for this declaration, presents curated endorsements, and shares updates through the News section.

What this site is

This site lets you read the declaration and, if you agree with it, add your name to a public list of signatories. It displays separately curated endorsements that organizers have permission to publish.

Who is behind it

The declaration is the work of an open working group of mathematicians and adjacent researchers. The current convenors and administrators of the website are:

Their institutional addresses are listed for legal-contact purposes only and do not imply endorsement of the declaration by ETH Zurich, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, or any other institution. The same holds for any affiliation appearing on the signatory list: affiliations identify signatories; they do not imply endorsement.

Endorsements vs. individual signatures

The signatory list is for individuals who personally signed. Organisations, departments, and institutions cannot use the signing form to sign as such. Curated institutional endorsements and quoted endorsements from named individuals are displayed separately when organizers have permission to publish them; those entries are not counted as signatures. If your institution wishes to publicly endorse the declaration, please contact Jim Portegies.
