    We, as our forefathers have done, live in an unprecedented time. Benjamin Franklin once said, "Man is a tool-using animal." We have exploited that maxim to achieve great results for humanity. However, when tools become so powerful that they rival human agency, a balanced declaration such as this becomes necessary. A Nobel Prize in Physics has already been awarded to a non-professional physicist (however great and respected in his field); can you imagine a Fields medal being awarded to a non-professional mathematician or an ACM Turing Award being conferred upon a non-professional computer scientist, also because they were pioneers in the development of A.I. tools that revolutionized mathematics or computer science research (or so familiar with the 'toolchain' as to having an unfair advantage?) Using powerful A.I. tools in your research is fair, I understand. However, without wholeheartedly supporting a fair declaration such as this one, our research (not in mathematics alone) would be like the Tour de France without any restrictions on the use of performance-enhancing drugs; cyclists with access to the best drugs win. I accept that the analogy is not perfect, but it's close. In general, strong cooperation between academia and industry (even when they serve society differently, often in a contradictory manner) is what we should strive for. Both unfairly regulated and unfairly unregulated industries create a tricky situation for this cooperation to thrive. I hope industries themselves and governments take this declaration seriously.

    An author writes a paper using AI, a reviewer evaluates it using AI, and after publication, readers rely on AI-generated summaries instead of reading the paper themselves. In the end, the entire process occurs with minimal human intellectual engagement.
